MISSION STATEMENT

"Welcome to the new Kate Genovese website.   This is an interactive site where the author participates with readers and friends via her social media links, blog and information on upcoming events.

As editor of Kate’s website it’s been an honor videotaping her at library events.  Kate is one of those speakers who talks with the audience, not at them.  Ms. Genovese’s ability to navigate through her printed works as well as her life experience creates the kind of friendly atmosphere which makes the in-person lectures/book signings fun as well as informative.

We’re in the process of re-designing our YouTube site to bring you videos of past events in chronological order.

* * * * *

We are here to give you all of the latest information about Kate's novels, life and upcoming projects. Presently we are very excited about our new script development project for Kate's novel "Loving Joe Galucci". Over the next few months we’ll  be keeping you updated about the progress for this online media center. We will also be keeping you updated on Kate’s popular cable television program, Table Talk.

The bottom third of the front page of KateGenovese.com will be a directory of links that direct the viewer/reader to issues and other sites we feel are important for Kate’s audience, friends and fans of her work.    Watch as this directory expands.  It will be worth “BOOKMARKING” on your home computer and laptop – and your input on which new links to add (and any you find that become outdated for us to remove) is always essential.

Feel free to leave comments on the blog, on Kate’s Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Linked In and other social media pages.

The KateGenovese.com team is here to help you have a great online experience.

Warm Regards

Editorial Reviews

More than anything, Loving Joe Gallucci is a story of redemption, of the resurrection of the Romano family through the triumph over adversity, and through faith, hope, and unconditional love. In its final analysis, this book is a call to arms against a liver disease so subtle and yet so damaging that is could perhaps be called the AIDS epidemic of the twenty-first century. "As a liver specialist who treats hundreds of people with Hepatitis C every year, I would like to express my gratitude, on my patients behalf, to Kate Genovese for authoring a book which portray the human drama that flows from the diagnosis of Hepatitis C". --Melissa Palmer, M.D.

KATE GENOVESE BIOGRAPHY

                                             BIOGRAPHY

Kate Genovese was born in Watertown, Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston) and was the sixth of seven children. Her parents were big on education and reading. Her father encouraged reading at least three books a month since the age of six and Kate’s love for reading started then.

Kate’s passion for writing didn’t start until she was well into her forties. She was going through a difficult time in her life and an event occurred with her children and family of origin that led Kate to write her first unpublished book A SILENCE SO STILL.

She realized the healing aspect of writing and creating characters and went on to publish three books;

THIRTY YEARS IN SEPTEMBER; A NURSES MEMOIR, which is autobiographical, LOVING JOE GALLUCCI, AND TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION’ which is fictional family drama.

LOVING JOE GALLUCCI is a true love story based on the hepatitis C virus and has been made into a movie script that is being considered by directors. Some of the proceeds go to the LIVER FOUNDATION from the sales of the book.

Her fourth novel APRIL SHOWERS, will be published in the summer of 2013.
Kate has been a registered nurse for over thirty years and is involved in alternative medicine and runs her private REIKI practice in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Kate has been married for over thirty years to her husband Gary and has three grown children.

when sixteen year old kate genovese went to visit her sister denise in the hospital in 1968, she claims "something clicked that very moment, I wanted to make Denise better again, heal her shattered body and make her laugh... I couldn't put wods to my feelings, but I knew I wanted to do more then just visit" That day kate discovered her calling in life, nursing, and spent the next thirty years on an adventure that has been at once rewarding and devastating, tumultuous and spiritual. Her memoir poignantly describes the adventures of her nursing career, beginning with her trialsome days as an LPN, where she lost her nursing license because of a drug addiction, her recovery, and going back to school once again to obtain her RN. The memoir meanders through the eighties and ninties, where she writes about her experiences with insurance companies and federal medicare systems, which have proven to be somewhat flawed in the method in which they fund patients. Interspersed within the memoir are hilarious anecdotes about nursing "mishaps" magical accounts of patients having near death experiences, and tales of strength, hope, and courage in a world of sickness and death.

TWO WEEKS SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION

Book Description

Publication Date: February 13, 2009
Molly O'Brien slid her frail body into the last pew of the Arch Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts. Several members of the congregation gave her critical looks as she knelt down to pray. She was late for Mass, the gospel had already started, and Molly had been told many times in her youth to never arrive after the gospel lesson had begun. Her mother had drilled that into all the O'Brien children at an early age; Mass wouldn't count, in God's eyes, if one missed the gospel.
